is winter we have had below normal precipitation and several wind events have left the upper mountain with a thin snowpack. This is the time of year when late storms can come through and dump snow so, always check the weather before you climb and monitor the weather and snow stability during your climb.

Casaval Ridge, Green Butte/Sargents Ridge via Bunny Flat Trailhead: Casaval is in poor shape with many climbers traversing to finish on the West Face route above 12,500 ft due to the lack of snow on the Catwalk section. Some sections are completely melted out exposing unstable scree slopes.

Looks like it back to Plan A, Avalanche Gulch.
